Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience Requirement: Two years Continuous Professional experience specifically in management accounting and/or financial management.
Completion Timing: The fulfillment of these requirements may occur either before or within seven years of passing the examination.
Adhere to the IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice.
Maintain an active IMA membership.

Examination Information:

Exam for Two parts, each comprising:
100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Two Essay Questions (30 minutes each)- Candidates need at least 50% correct MCQs to access the essay section
Duration: Four hours per part.
Pass/Fail Determination: Total score determines pass/fail status; passing both sections separately are not mandatory.
Result Notification:
Exam results emailed and posted online about six weeks after testing.
Updates in Standards:
GAAP/IFRS changes reflected in the CMA® exam one-year post-effective date.
Exam Center:
Candidates can take the exam at any Prometric Centre for flexibility and convenience.

Recertification:

Continuing Professional Education (CPE):
Requirement: 30 CPE credits per year for CMA® certification holders.
Membership Maintenance:
Obligation to sustain IMA membership.
Adherence to Ethical Standards:
Commitment to uphold IMA’s Statement of Ethical Professional Practice.
